Fausto Ferrari

Fausto has been working in his downtown Cincinnati, Ohio shop since 1957. I thought it was interesting that there were still banners from his 50th anniversary year in 2007, 4 years ago. He is also an accomplished musician with skills in playing the accordion, mandolin, guitar and clarinet. He is rather comfortable in front of the camera as over the years numerous newspaper and TV stories have featured him and his shop.

Their website says “The World’s Greatest Outdoor Bookstore” and perhaps it is. There aren’t too many outdoor bookstores in my neck of the woods (Cincinnati). I certainly recommend checking it out if you are in the neighborhood of Ojai, California. Very cool indeed. You may even spy a “celebrity” or two while there. They have a huge supply of books ranging from the 35 cent honor system books that line the bookshelves out on the sidewalk to rare out-of-print first editions.
