Any trip to St. Paul, Minnesota should include a visit to this spectacular cathedral. It is one of a few in the United States that rivals the great cathedrals in Europe. The cornerstone was laid in 1907, the first Mass was celebrated on Easter, 1915. The interior details were then completed as funding allowed and was essentially completed in 1941 with the installation of the last two rose windows. The “Rite of Consecration” was performed in 1958 during a 5 hour ceremony by Archbishop William Brady.
