The Playhouse, located in Eden Park, is dedicated to providing the finest in professional theater. It is one of America’s first regional theaters started in 1959 with the dream of Gerald Covell, a college student. In 2004 the Playhouse won the Regional Theatre Tony Award.
The Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza Hotel is a nice example of French Art-Deco architecture. Cincinnati City Hall, the government seat for the City of Cincinnati, is across 8th St. from St. Peter in Chains Cathedral, the spiritual seat for the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, and that is across the street from the Plum Street Temple, one of the oldest synagogue buildings in the United States
